Joseph Sharp

From 1998-2006, Joseph Sharp served as chief executive officer at Capital Medical Center. He returned as interim chief executive officer from 2009-2010. Prior to joining Capital Medical Center, he was an HCA Division President and oversaw nine hospitals in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, and New Mexico. Joseph (Joe) has been in the healthcare industry for more than 40 years, which included a position in Saudi Arabia. His first healthcare job was at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California serving as a cook’s assistant. He also spent two years in submarine service with the US Navy.
Joe has served as a member of the board for the Washington State Hospital Association, as well as the Southwest Washington Hospital Council. He and his wife Vicki split their time between the Northwest and Southern California. Joe has a strong interest in history, genealogy and sports, particularly baseball.
