Jim Morris founded his first general contracting firm in Olympia over 30 years ago. After beginning in the residential field with over 50 residential rental units, he and his wife Cheryl have since built and managed over 350,000 square feet of commercial office space. Today, he and Cheryl are Managing Members of MPH Holdings, LLC, which manages an approximately 200,000 square foot portfolio of public and private commercial office and retail space. In addition to the holdings company, Cheryl and Jim also operate J A Morris Construction, LLC, an in-house commercial construction, consulting, and property development company specializing in “ground-up” construction.
He has served as founding President of the West Olympia Business Association, and founding Board Members of the West Olympia Community Visioning Group and the Government Builders Owners and Lessors Association, and remains an active Board Member in all three organizations to date, as well as new board membership on the Thurston County Economic Development Council. In the past, he has served on the City of Olympia’s Permit Review Committee and Transportation Policy Board. Jim and Cheryl have three grown children, all of whom are married and work with him, as well as four granddaughters, two of whom were born at Capital Medical Center. He is an avid drag racer and classic car enthusiast.
