Capital Medical Center advanced the standard of cancer care in the South Sound when it joined the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA). CMC became the fourth community hospital in Washington and the only hospital in the South Sound area to have been accepted in the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Network. The SCCA unites the cancer care services of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine, and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.
Through the SCCA Network, Capital Medical Center patients will have access to many of the advanced treatment therapies that previously required travel to Seattle. Patients treated by Network hospitals receive the latest research-based cancer therapies as well as leading edge treatments for other non-cancer diseases.
Additionally, Capital Medical Center and its patients will benefit from the support of other community-based services such as continuing medical education for physicians and staff, and access to clinical trials for local patients.
