Capital Medical Center is pleased to announce their 2011 High School Scholarship Winners:

• Skye Calhoun, Yelm High School
• Mackenzie Cooper, Tumwater High School
• Nikhil Das, North Thurston High School
• Robert Hashimoto, North Thurston High School
• Michelle Le, Capital High School
• Angie Lim, Timberline High School
• Chelsea McEwen, Elma High School
• Lia Michaels, Olympia High School
• Kelsea Rothaus, North Thurston High School
• Vivek Sandhinti, Capital High School and Capital Medical Center Volunteer
• Guy Simpson, Yelm High School
The hospital held a scholarship reception on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 in honor of their scholarship recipients. Each student was presented with a certificate of excellence during the ceremony which highlighted their scholastic achievements. Ten of the recipients were awarded $500 scholarships. As teen volunteers at Capital Medical Center, two recipients were awarded scholarships in the amount of $750.
During the selection process, Capital Medical Center’s Scholarship Committee evaluated each applicant’s academic and athletic achievements, their leadership roles, as well as community involvement & volunteerism. In addition, each applicant was required to submit an essay outlining the healthcare field they plan to pursue and why.
