Capital Medical Center Welcomes New CEO
November 30, 2007Capital Medical Center has announced Michael Motte as its new Chief Executive Officer. Motte has a longstanding history with the hospital and the South Sound community as he served as the Chief Financial Officer from 2001- 2005. He will be rejoining the hospital in early January 2008. Motte is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Mary Black Health System in Spartanburg, South Carolina. “I feel like I’m returning home. I’m headed back to a great medical staff, hospital, and community,” said Motte. Chief Operating Officer, Tom Pemberton from the hospital’s parent company, Capella said, “Capella is extremely pleased to have Mike taking over the reins of Capital Medical Center. This is a fine hospital, and we are confident that Mike will build on the hospital’s reputation for high quality healthcare for all patients. He is a great fit for Capital Medical Center.” “The Board is excited to have Mike as the new CEO and believes his history with the community and healthcare experience will ensure Capital Medical Center is a leader in technology, state-of-the-art equipment, and high quality patient care,” said Kevin Ekar, Capital Medical Center’s Chairman of the Board. Motte succeeds Ron Butler, Interim CEO who has held the position since September when Rick Carter left to pursue other healthcare opportunities.
